The Cougars won their match against the Rams in three games 25-19, 25-22, 25-13. Shelby MacKenzie and Jenn Garrett led with 9 and 7 kills respectively. Adriana Christian had 14 assists and Kayci Murphy added another 12.

Clark is now 2-0 in district play with Brandeis up next on Friday. Be at O’Connor for the game at 5:30 to cheer them on!

Marcella Arellano

Following a weekend of tough competition in the Pearland Tournament, the Clark volleyball team returns to Paul Taylor Fieldhouse tonight to resume district play against the Marshall Rams. The Cougars are 1-0 after their district opening win against Taft and 9-14 for the season so far. Senior Marcella Arellano leads the team with 193 kills already this season. Adriana Christian is the assist leader with 211 total this season. Tonight’s game starts at 7:30.

On Friday night the Cougars will take on rival Brandeis in a 5:30 match up in the O’Connor H.S. gym.

Rozanski heads up

Congratulations to senior  WR/DB Peter Rozanski.  He will be featured at halftime of the television broadcast as the Clark Scholar Athlete.  Peter is a 3 year football letterman and also a 3 year letterman for the varsity baseball team.

And he’s smart, too…(real smart…)

Tickets for the 27th Annual Gucci Bowl game between Clark and Churchill go on sale Wednesday and Thursday during the lunch hours at Clark: 11:30-1:15. They will also be available at the traditional Back in Black Pep Rally on Wednesday night at 6:30 in the auditorium at Clark. Tickets are $6 for adults ($7 at the game). Student tickets are $3.

Back in Black will feature all Varsity teams at Clark and will include performances by the mighty Cougar Band, the Cheerleaders, Top Cats and Aristocats. Jay Tope will emcee the evening. Show up to cheer on your Cougars! (continue reading…)

Adriana Christian

Clark defeated Taft 3-0 to begin district play on a dominating note. The Cougars won 25-19, 25-12 and 25-18 behind Marcella Arellano’s 16 kills. Shelby MacKenzie added 8 kills and Adriana Christian and Abigail Glosup were the assist leaders with 20 and 11 respectively.

Clark is now on a 3 game win streak as they head to the prestigious Pearland Classic tournament on Thursday.

The World Champion Northside Suburban Softball All Stars will be honored  on the San Antonio Riverwalk this Saturday morning. The team, featuring seven Clark Cougar softball players, will be celebrated at the Arneson River Theater starting at 10 a.m. Read more in the Express News. Clark fans are encouraged to show up loud and proud!

The Northside Suburban Softball All Stars, otherwise known as World Champions, were greeted by a crowd of supporters at Clark on Sunday night on their return from the World Series in Delaware. The Northside team, composed of seven Clark Cougar softball players, won the championship over a team from New York on Saturday in a game televised on ESPN.  The girls represented the Southwest USA and had a remarkable 17-0 run through the All Star competition. The Northside Suburban Little League Softball All Stars are on top of the world. The team, featuring seven Clark Cougars, won the Senior Softball World Series on Saturday in Delaware and they did live on ESPN2.  Representing the Southwest USA the girls beat the USA East team from New York 3-1, breaking a 1-1 tie in the top of the 7th inning.  Read more in the Express-News.

The team will arrive at Clark at 7:00 pm Sunday evening in the student parking lot. Everyone is invited to welcome and congratulate them at that time! Come an hour early and join local radio and TV stations as they broadcast live from Clark.

The Northside Suburban Softball All Star team is 5-0 after a dominating 13-0 win over an Indiana team at the Senior Softball World series in Delaware.
