2011 JV team members

The JV girls team of Emily Stewart, Emilia Jansse, Madi Claus, Emily Johnson , and Kaylee Johnson competed in their very first tournament of the season on October 31st.  This tournament was a novice 9 hole tournament with the first two hours of the day devoted to instruction by PGA certified golf pro’s.  The girls were able to work on all aspects of their game, from drives to putting, and then take advantage of their practice on the course.  Our girls, many of whom are first year golfers, were able to take what they learned and place 4th.  Way to go team.  We are very proud of your amazing start!

Additionally, the varsity boys are psyched and ready for this weekend!  The team of JT Caldarola, Trevor Colen, Tyler Bercher, Jeremy Gordon, and Jordan Gregory will be participating in the NEISD Texas Shootout.  This two-day tournament at Pecan Valley starts Friday morning at 9:44 a.m. with Clark teeing off at the first hole.  The boys play 18 holes on Friday and then are back on the course Saturday morning for another 18 holes.  If you are in the Pecan Valley area, stop by and cheer the boys on!!

Go Cougars!

The varsity girls’ team started their season on October 24^th at the Hunter’s Moon Tournament at Northern Hills golf course. The girls finished a respectable 5^th place out of 15 teams.  Players included Grace Diana, Kristen Dunn, Marissa Fallis, Maddie Diana, Megan Johnson and Amanda Schroeder.  Disappointed with their performance the girls are putting in extra practice time gearing up for their next outing on November 11th and 12^th.

The Clark tennis program grabbed its 21st consecutive team tennis district title on Saturday. The Cougars defeated O’Connor 10-3 in the championship round of the 27-5A tournament. Clark defeated Warren 11-2 in the semi-finals. Health Careers took the third place spot by defeating Warren 10-1. Read more in the Express News.

Clark Boys Golf

The boys golf team of Jordan Gregory, Cole Wilder, Lawrence Harper, Sean Butler, and Estefan Garcia tied for 3^rd at the Warren Boys Invitational Golf tournament held on October 17^th.  Placing ahead of Warren, Taft, Brandeis and Marshall, the boys showed that all the Clark boys teams are ready to compete.  O’Connor was the only 27-5A team to place ahead of the Cougars.

Jordan Gregory paced the Clark group with an 81, placing him tied for 12^th.  The field included over 90 competitors from across the area.  Way to go Jordan!  Also competing, as individual medalists were Andy Lin and Ben Green.

The girls’ season starts on October 24^th, with the varsity team of Grace Diana, Kristen Dunn, Marissa Fallis, Maddie Diana, Megan Johnson and Amanda Schroeder participating in the Hunters Moon tournament at Northern Hills. Good luck girls!

The Cougar Golf boys silver team made up of Lawrence Harper, Andrew Pina, Harrison Eaton, Kruz Crosier and Eric Asencio took 1st place at the NISD Novice tournament held at Northcliffe Golf Course.  Competing against 15 other teams the boys swept the competition that included several other teams from District 27-5A.

> Also placing in the top five were Eric Asencio and Kruz Crosier who placed 4th and 5th respectively.

> Next up for the boys is the Brandeis Open on Oct 17. The girls are continuing to practice hard for their first tournament on October 24th.

The Clark Cougar varsity boys golf team started the season with a solid performance, tying for 4th place at the O’Connor Icebreaker Tournament. Over 18 teams were represented in this first tournament of the season and only 4 shots separated the top 6 teams.

Clark represented District 27-5A well, placing ahead of Warren, Taft, Brandeis, Marshall and Brennan. The team they will chase all season looks to be O’Connor who also placed 4th.  Clark’s own, Trevor Colen, was one of the top 10 overall best scores, with a score of 80. Great job Trevor!!

The Varsity Boys Golf team will play in their first tournament on Monday, Sept 19th. The O’Connor Icebreaker will be held at Sonterra South and Clark has fielded an amazing team that is ready to get the season started.
The team representing Clark consists of JT Caldarola, Jeremy Gordon, Trevor Colen, Tyler Bercher & Chase Kellam. Clay Traeger will also be playing as an individual medalist.

Golf season about to heat up

Despite heat, wildfires and everything else that can interfere, the Clark golf teams are preparing for their first tournaments with the boys varsity starting on September 19th.  You can see the entire schedule here or look at the calendar on the right for Cougar golf action (GOL).

Grip it and rip it, Coogs!

Fielding the largest team in recent history with 29 golfers , the Clark Cougars are preparing for another successful season.  The varsity boys will be starting off the year with their first tournament on Sept 16th when they play at Sonterra.  The girls are working hard to be ready for their first varsity tournament on Oct 13th.

Their first organized event is the Annual Golf Team fundraiser currently underway.  Clark golfers all play a round of golf and focus on making as many birdies/pars/bogeys as possible.  Sponsors then donate to the golf team based on the individual’s performance, with this money going to pay for tournament fees and much needed equipment.  If you’d like to help contribute, please contact Head Coach David Creekmore at Clark.
