CLARK BEATS BRANDEIS

by on Mar.02, 2011, under Soccer

The only blemish thus far on the Clark boys soccer district record is a 1-1 tie against Brandeis back in January. On Tuesday night the Cougars set things right with a 2-0 victory over the broncos. The #1 ranked Cougars snagged both goals in the first half – one coming off the foot of Carlos Sepulveda and the other from John Bruce.  Oscar Barboza continues to set up his teammates as he gets credit for both assists. Barboza and the Coog’s leading scorer, Johnny Lawson, lead the San Antonio area in assists – Barboza now with 20 and Lawson with 15.

Clark’s defense remains stellar also, on the field and behind goalkeeper Gavin Greene with 11 shut outs this season.

The Cougars are 14-2-3 and 10-0-1 in district.

The Clark girls played a close game on Tuesday, but lost  0-1 to Brandeis on a second half goal.

Up next is Jay on Saturday at Farris. Girls at 12:00 and boys at 2:00.
