The Varsity Track Team was split this week, with the relay teams headed to Austin to participate in the Texas Relays on Friday/Saturday, and the rest taking part in the SAISD meet on Thursday, April 1st.  Here in town, David Scorcelletti (10:08.14) and Glynnis Meade (12:21) both finished 4th in their respective 3200m races, and Jose Sierra was 6th in the 800m run (2:03.6).

Out of town, the relays gained valuable experience running against some incredible competition.  None made the finals, but the Girls 4x200m relay team (Triniqua Collins, Shaneve Swift, Esjah Booker, Shantel Swift) ran a season best 1:43.93 (heat 2), and the 4x100m relay team (Louisa Garza, Shaneve, Esjah and Shantel) placed 29th out of 82 teams in 43:43 (heat 6).  The Boys 4x200m team (Travis Cooke, Hayden Greenbauer, Ryan Jones, Joe Vasquez) were running well and then dropped the baton (heat 1), and the same team completed the 4x100m relay in 43:43 (heat 4).  For you die-hard fans, all four races can be seen on – see Division II using the heat numbers listed.

Out last meet before District will be Thursday, April 8th at Judson.  Go Cougars!
