COUGARS HIT RAMS HARD

by on Mar.03, 2011, under Baseball

Clark Cougar varsity baseball beat Marshall 8-6 last night for their second district win (2-0).  It was a great night to watch baseball as both teams battled at the plate, on the mound and in the field.  Clark came from behind in the 4th inning when their bats started to crack – with 10 hits for the game, 5 rbis, and 3 SACs!  Chris Werland came in to lead the Cougars to their win, pitching 4 innings and allowing only one Marshall run.  Trevor Settles closed on the mound for the Cougars with 4 quick outs to secure the win.

The Cougars were on defensively as well – all players contributing key outs during the game, with John Henderson making some outstanding plays in CF.  All in all, it was a great baseball game – they played as a team and won as a team.

Next up for the Cougars, NEISD Tournament, beginning tonight at Basse Fields (7:15pm) where they face SA Christian. The next district game is against Brandeis, Tuesday March 8 at 4:45, NS # 1.  This is a critical game for the Cougars as both teams will be undefeated in District 27-5A play when they meet.

Come see the Cougars play and make some noise!
