The beautiful game was just that for the Clark boys soccer team on Wednesday. The Cougars built a 4-0 halftime lead on their way to a 6-1 victory over the Broncos. Two Clark players found the back of the net not once, but twice – Chris Pantaleon and Manuel Garcia. Also scoring were Jair Rodriguez and Carlos Sepulveda. Yamil Alvarado and Romero Villalvazo had two assists each along with one each from Alex Martinez and John Cintron.
The Cougars district record is 9-1-1 with a big game against 27-5A leader Jay on Saturday at 2:00 at Farris. The Mustangs handed Clark its only loss of the season in the last 23 seconds of their game on January 31st.

Clark soccer returns to the field today following a big win for the girls over Jay on Tuesday and a heartbreaking loss for the boys. The Clark girls beat Jay 3-0 with goals from Andrea Romero, Alyssa Jacobs and Bridget Sumner – all in the second half. The win brings their district record to 1-2-1. They face Warren today at 5:00 at the Northside fields.
The Clark boys suffered a rare district loss on Tuesday after leading 3-1 at halftime. Jay fought back and hit the winning goal in the last minute of play to win 4-3. Chris Miller scored two goals for the Cougars and Chris Pantaleon scored the other on an assist from Miller in the loss – read more in the Express News. Clark boys soccer completed its bad weather make up games with a complete domination of Stevens on Saturday. The 5-0 victory included two goals each from seniors Johnny Lawson and Oscar Barboza and one from freshman defender Chris Pantaleon. The #1 ranked Cougars are 5-0-1 in district play.
The Clark girls lost a close one to Stevens. Tied 1-1 at the half, Stevens got a second half goal to take the win.
Matches against Holmes are scheduled for Tuesday.
