by envisionfilmvideo.com on Jun.12, 2010, under Football
With a couple of hundred people looking on and with field goals of 53, 53, 49, 47 and 42 yds., Clark Cougar kicker Webb Williams was named co-champion of the 2010 Texas A&M Kicking Camp in the Field Goal competition. Over 100 kickers from around the state and nation attended the camp, including several college prospects who competed in punting, kickoff, and long snapping contests. Williams made the finals by making FGs of 42 and 47 yds. in the preliminary round, going to the finals on Kyle Field with approximately 17 others.
It was a good weekend for the senior kicker, who was also named to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football pre-season All State team in the annual release of the football guru’s magazine.
Congratulations!

PERFECT!
by envisionfilmvideo.com on Nov.07, 2009, under Football
It began with a Webb Williams 45 yd. field goal. It ended with the award winning Clark Cougar Band playing Queen’s “We Are the Champions”. In between it was pure joy as the Clark Cougar varsity football team headed into the post season with a win over the Holmes Huskies and a District 28-5A Championship . It is Clark’s 22nd year of playoff football.
CLARK TRICKS TAFT, TREATS THEM TO LOSS
by envisionfilmvideo.com on Oct.31, 2009, under Football
The Clark Cougar varsity football team got their Halloween scare early courtesy the Taft Raiders but were eventually treated to a 23-15 win and at least a share of the District 28-5A title.
On the opening drive, Taft took a page out of the Clark playbook and drove 72 yards for the first score of the game, giving them a 7-0 lead and taking seven and a half minutes off the clock. On the first Clark possession, a turnover on the second play was one of only five offensive plays in the 1st quarter by Clark, including a punt.
The second quarter was a thriller by itself. Glenn Bonner delivered a crushing sack, a Hayden Greenbauer punt that was clearly out of bounds on the Taft 2 yd. line wasn’t near as clear to the referee standing inches from it who called a touch back, a Clark defensive stop was negated by an unsportsmanlike penalty, and the offense went back to good ol’ smash mouth football behind Greenbauer and Tevin Glasgow. The drive ended as time ran out on a field goal attempt. At the half, Taft still led 7-0.
The 3rd qtr. was a treat for Cougar fans. Hayden Greenbauer hit Jacob Garcia in stride 41 yds. downfield for a 82 yd. touchdown pass. With 32 seconds left in the quarter, Greenbauer bootlegged another 30 yds. for the next Clark score, giving the Cougars a 14-7 lead. Following a Webb Williams kickoff, the Taft receiver was met in the end zone by Ryan Flournoy and Daniel Durke (that’s pronounced DIRK!, Mr. NISD announcer) for a safety, giving the Cougars a 16-7 lead going into the 4th. REVENGE IS BEST SERVED WITH AN 8-0 RECORD!
by envisionfilmvideo.com on Oct.17, 2009, under Football
The Clark Cougars varsity football team, #1 in San Antonio, #11/21 in Texas (Dave Campbell/5ATexasfootball.com) exacted a bit of revenge on the Warren Warriors with a 27-17 victory. The win gave the Cougars an 8-0 record, perfect in play this season. Last season Warren ended the Cougars’ win streak at 7.
The Warriors scored first with an opening drive that resulted in a field goal and 3 point lead. On the first possession for the Cougars, a five play drive ended with Hayden Greenbauer scoring from 5 yds. out to give the Cougars a 7-3 1st qtr. score. Joe Vasquez would get the ball back for the Cougars with an athletic interception with 4:02 left in the 1st qtr. That would set up a Webb Williams 23 yd. field goal to give the Cougars a 7 point lead with a little over 11 minutes to play in the half. The Cougars weren’t done with the end zone, however, as Joey Cammer tacked on a 1 yd. rushing TD with 5 minutes left in the half. When both teams left the field, Clark had a 17-3 lead.
In the 2nd half, Clark would turn over the opening kickoff, giving Warren a chance to get back in it, converting it for a TD but still trailing 17-10. A second Clark fumble gave Warren life but the defense held and Clark took over. A nine play drive would set up another Webb Williams field goal, this time a 45 yd. effort, giving Clark a 20-10 lead going into the 4th qtr.
COUGARS ROUT, PANTHERS SHUT OUT
by envisionfilmvideo.com on Oct.10, 2009, under Football
The Clark Cougars, coming off a shutout of the Jay Mustangs last week, continued their defensive dominance and the offense poured on the points in a 31-0 pasting of the O’Connor Panthers. Junior Jimmy Kueber started the Cougars off with a fumble recovery on the second play of the game and from there on out, it didn’t get any better for the Panthers. Hayden Greenbauer ran for a 13 yd. TD to end the drive and put points on the board early for Clark. Later in the 1st quarter, Tevin Glasgow would score on a rushing TD for his first of two TDs.
In the second quarter, O’Connor would have a chance to score. On the Clark 1 yd. line, the Panthers were set to get their first six but a mishandled snap would be recovered by Robert Chapman, his first fumble recovery, in limited defensive play, of the season. The quarter ended with a Webb Williams 33 yd. field goal, giving the Cougars a 17-0 lead at the half.
