Cougars ready for playoffs

For the 28th season IN A ROW, the Clark(#10) varsity volleyball team is headed to the post-season.  Coach Kristen Daniells’ squad played an all-out match against Warren in their final district game to wrestle 2nd place away from the Warriors (25-21, 19-25, 16-25, 27-25, 17-15).  Kelly Cavanaugh had a whopping 59 assists and Shelby MacKenzie and Katie Mattson combined for 50 kills.  Carly Harr and Madison Woods’ 48 digs kept the Cougars offense going.

The Cougars finish the regular season with a 22-15. 13-3 record.  Clark is 48-16 in district play over the past 4 years.  Their next game is against Southwest, who finished 3rd in District 28-5A.  The Cougars have defeated Southwest the last three times they’ve met but have had difficulty winning against the 28-5A representative the last 4 years in the opening round of the playoffs.  The game will be Tuesday at 7:00pm at the Durbon Center (directions).

GREAT JOB AND EAT ‘EM UP, COOGS!
